On 10 December 2013, four Chinese banks issued the yuan-denominated Formosa Bond, worth a total of 67 million yuan or 11 million US Dollar, in Tiawan. 프랑스 은행 BNP파리바의 기업 고객은 중국은행(BOC) 시스템에 연결해 디지털 위안화(e-CNY)에 접근할 수 있다고 사우스차이나모닝포스트(SCMP)가 보도했다.
중국은행은 중국 디지털 화폐 사업 권한이 있는 8개 은행 중 하나다. BNP파리바 은행은 스마트 컨트랙트, 공급망 금융, 국가 간 결제에 CBDC를 사용하는 방안도 모색할 것이라고 밝혔다.
